National Retailers Make Florida Debut as Water Street Tampa Continues to Take Shape 

TAMPA, FL (December 16, 2021) – Tampa-based real estate development firm Strategic Property Partners, LLC (“SPP”) is pleased to announce today the signing of two national retailers to Sparkman Wharf, the vibrant waterfront location that has become a retail, dining and office destination in Tampa’s Water Street Tampa neighborhood. 

Focused on wellness offerings from fitness to facials, the new retailers – BODYROK and The Covery – echo Water Street Tampa’s mission to promote health and well-being across all aspects and areas of community life. 

“As Water Street Tampa transforms downtown Tampa into a walkable, wellness-oriented community, retail leasing at Sparkman Wharf has continued to flourish this year,” said Lee Schaffler, Chief Portfolio Officer for SPP. “With many people currently living and working in the district, our retailers, and in particular our wellness retailers, are integral to the vibrancy of their daily lives.” 

A national franchise with locations throughout New York, California, Illinois, Montana and Tennessee, BODYROK is a high-intensity Pilates studio known for its unique combination-style workout. BODYROK’s new location at Sparkman Wharf will be the brand’s first Florida location. Offering 45-minute full-body cardio and strength-training classes on a custom reformer, BODYROK’s hybrid Pilates classes are designed to energize and create a new workout experience every time. BODYROK is slated to open at Sparkman Wharf in early 2022. 

“With three locations in New York City, we had hopes of establishing BODYROK in an area of Tampa that resembled the big-city feel,” said owners Alicia Whitis and Erin Greco. “As soon as we saw this vibrant park and retail scene, we knew right away that Sparkman Wharf and Water Street Tampa were the perfect fit.” 

Adding to the wellness-oriented offerings at Sparkman Wharf is The Covery, a national wellness and self-care studio. The Covery offers a variety of health-optimizing therapies, including IV infusions, cryotherapy, hyperbaric oxygen treatments, redlight and frequency therapy, PEMF therapy, salt-infused saunas, ballancerpro compression, hydrafacials, Cryoskin, ZO Skin care and more. Based in Louisiana, The Covery will make its Florida debut when it opens at Sparkman Wharf in 2022. The Sparkman Wharf location will offer The Covery’s signature wellness and lifestyle optimization therapies in a relaxing setting. Packages and memberships will be available for all of their services.

To date, SPP has signed leases with 32 retailers throughout Water Street Tampa, securing national, regional and local concepts ranging from a full-service grocery store to several fitness franchises to a locally owned boutique. Two of the neighborhood’s recently announced retail tenants, BurgerFi and Hampton Chocolate Factory, will open at Sparkman Wharf before the end of the year, and many others will open 

across the district throughout the next few months as Water Street Tampa gears up for its official grand opening in 2022.
