Tampa Chef BT Nguyen to Open BT-in-a-Box at Sparkman Wharf

Tampa, Fla. (August 9, 2018) – Chef BT Nguyen, renowned owner of Tampa restaurants restaurant BT, Bistro BT, and BT-to-Go, will bring her extraordinary interpretation of classic French and Vietnamese dishes to Sparkman Wharf, opening this fall.

BT-in-a-Box will feature innovative and fresh mixtures of organic ingredients, small farm meats and poultry, wild fresh-caught seafood, and local Florida produce.

Chef and restaurateur BT Nguyen was born in Vietnam, where her love for cooking began in her family’s kitchen. When Saigon fell in 1975, Chef Nguyen fled as a refugee to the United States, where she put herself through college acquiring a degree in Textile Science and Fashion Design. Her focus was ultimately redirected to her passion for food and restaurant design. Chef Nguyen eventually moved to Tampa, where she has become a successful restauranteur and staple in the Tampa culinary community for the last thirty years.

At Sparkman Wharf, Chef BT Nguyen and her concept BT-in-a-Box will join a constellation of culinary talent assembled including: Montados, a Spanish tapas concept by Mise en Place’s Maryann Ferenc and Chef Marty Blitz; Gallito, a modern taqueria operated by the dynamic team behind Tampa’s Rooster & the Till; and Boat Run Oyster Company, created by Salt Block Catering; as well as Foundation Coffee and Whatever Pops.
