The Market: Earth Day Celebration

Sundays start fresh with The Market at Water Street Tampa. Join us to shop 60+ local food and wellness-focused vendors with an array of fresh, local, homemade, handcrafted, fair-trade, vintage or eco-friendly products.
During this month’s market theme of Earth Day, join us as we celebrate Mother Earth through creative activities and adventures highlighting Earth Day and the importance of the natural environment in keeping us all healthy, happy and connected to one another. The experiences will include the following:
+ Kids can learn how to grow their own food | Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful will be hosting workshops at The Market for kids to teach them the incredible skill of learning to grow their own food. With 3 time slots available at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., kids can RSVP in advance or join in on the day-of. Each child will walk away with a planted seed and knowledge to take it home and nourish it and watch it grow. Free but with limited seats available. Click here to RSVP.
+ Be inspired by recycled art | Art is at the heart of the community in Water Street Tampa. Take a walk through Raybon Plaza to explore some of our local artists who use found and recycled items in their creations.
+ Explore the natural environment with The Florida Aquarium | The Florida Aquarium will host educational activities as well as items that will show the effects that pollution has on the Earth. Weather permitting, guests will learn about environmental health and pollution and the impact on animals.
+ Discover butterflies and how you can help them | BuzzFarms are local urban farmers who are on a mission to educate and help in the conservation efforts to protect our local butterflies and bees. You will have the chance to view live caterpillars as they feast on native milkweed, learn about the importance of native plants, the migration cycle and other cool facts about these beautiful brightly colored winged creatures and understand why they have become a metaphor for transformation and hope.
+ Sign up for a beach cleanup with Tampa Bay Beautiful | Join the team at KTBB and sign up for their biggest beach clean up of the year taking place on April 21. If you are unable to attend that date, there are many other options available to sign up to participate in helping keep our Tampa Bay beaches beautiful and clean.
+ Learn the tips and tricks of recycling | Many of us think we are recycling properly, only to find out there is more to the process than we know. As you walk through the district you will be met with signs on how to properly recycle.
