Enjoy an evening of live music on Water Street! Our resident artist, Kayla Blackman, will be performing every Saturday evening throughout the month of June near the entrance of Dwell & Company. Whether you’re strolling through the neighborhood, shopping, or dining at one of Water Street Tampa’s incredible restaurants, let the music set the tone for a perfect night out.
About the Artist
At just 24 years old, Kayla is already carving out her place as a local musician in the Bay Area music scene. Her journey began as a guitar and vocal student under the guidance of Chris Sgammato, and by 2018, she had already released her debut studio album, “Raw”. This early success marked the beginning of what would become a flourishing career. Known for her powerful voice, Kayla quickly gained recognition for her dynamic performances. Whether performing solo or collaborating with other local talents, she has been an active performer throughout the Bay Area, captivating audiences with her diverse vocal range and emotive delivery.
Her growth as an artist is a testament to the strong foundation she built, from performing at local events and winning multiple awards at high-school thespian festivals to refining her skills in the USF choir and theater program. While she has a strong affinity for R&B and pop music, Kayla’s vocal versatility is not unnoticed as she enjoys singing a variety of genres —from classical and gospel to rock and even country. Her passion for music is matched only by her gratitude for the artists and opportunities that have helped shape her journey. Kayla is excited to jam with talented musicians and share her ever-evolving sound with the Tampa Bay community.
